Computer bookComputer Class-Intro to Computers

Intro to Computers:  Intro to computers will offer an introduction to what a computer is and how to use it.  It is designed for beginners with little or no knowledge of computers.  Topics covered will include an explanation of Windows and files, how to turn on a computer, and how to use the mouse.

Do you have what it takes to unearth dinosaur bones? We're pulling on our paleontology hats and excavating dinosaur skeletons! All supplies will be provided.

GIRLS WHO CODE

MARCH 19, MONDAY 5:30-6:30

Did you know Hackley Public Library has a coding club just for girls? We are an official host site for the international girls Who Code organization. The club is open to students grade 6 and up. In the club, girls will master the basics of coding like loops, variables, functions, and conditionals to name a few. We will meet every Monday evening through the end of May.

12:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 20

Reserve your 30 minute appointment to have your computer/tech questions answered by our in-house IT people. We will answer questions on using computers and apps-anything from how to navigate Windows to how to upload pictures to Facebook.  Call 231-722-8012 at least 24 hours in advance to reserve your spot.  By appointment only, walk-in spots will not be available.

Did you know the library has buckets and buckets of Legos? We do and we love to encourage engineers of all ages to build with our Legos so we can put their projects on display. The Legos are available from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

HPL's Annual Off-the-Wall Writing and Drawing Contest

March 1st through March 31st; entries accepted until 5:00pm on Saturday, March 31st.

Our annual writing and drawing contest is underway at Hackley Public Library! Students in grades 7-12 are invited to submit any original, creative work. This includes poems, stories, drawings and comics! Stop by the library for more information, or check out our website! The contest runs March 1st through March 31st. All entries are due by 5:00pm on Saturday, March 31st.
We hope to see your creativity at HPL!
