Book Review-Bring up the Bodies

The Tudors.  Such an interesting family.  Politics, scandal, romance-what more can you ask for? If you haven't yet read Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies you should start now! Hilary Mantel's series on the Tudors is engrossing (and she has one more to go.) The stories are told from the point of view of Thomas Cromwell, a commoner who rose to power in Henry the VIII's court.  Ms. Mantel takes a much more human view of Cromwell than other writers.  She shows him as a family man who is fiercely loyal to those he loves, however, she also explores his ruthless and vindictive side. I liked Bring up the Bodies because of the detail about the era, the personalities of the characters, and the level of detail.  It is one of those books that transports you right into the story.  When you are reading about something that took place in the depths of winter and put down the book you are surprised that it is a hot summer day. Now I have to wait for the final installment!
