Adult Summer Reading

We've finished the first week of reading in the Summer Reading Program.  47 readers read 113 books!
Book Reviews by participants, day 3:

First Mountain Man by William Johnstone:  It was a great book.

Deception by Jonathan Kellerman:  Kellerman was not up to par on this book. Too many unneccesary words leading to nowhere.  I was glad when it was over, even the ending was flat.

Down the Long Hills by Louis L'Amour:  I think the book was great.  The author did a very good job.

Dark Canyon by Louis L'Amour:  It was a great book.

Hanging Woman Creek by Louis L'Amour:  It was a great book.

The Wife's Tale by Lori Lansens:  This was a very good book on a very touchy subject-being over weight.  One never stops to think that there may be circumstances in a person's life that makes them find comfort in food.  When the story ended I wasn't ready to let it go.  It left me wanting more.

The Short Second LIfe of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer:  An excellent snapshot into the minds of the so-called "enemies" in the Twilight Series.  The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it was too short.  Now I am curious about a new character named "Fred" the author introduced.

Cast Iron Cuisine by Matt and Linda Morehouse:  Excellent book.  Terrific recipes.  Very informational.

Notes from the dog by Gary Paulsen:  This was a great book (actually for young adults).  It speaks to making family.
